Description
Sturt Desert Pea originated from a cross between Wilpena and Cherokee Purple in 2008 made by Patrina Nuske Small named Plentiful F1. Sturt Desert Pea is a mid-season regular leaf dwarf that produces abundant yields of 4-8oz tasty oblate shiny red fruit. Plants reach around a metre+ / 3-4 ft by end of season. The name originates from a brilliant shiny red and black flowered leguminous plant native to the desert regions of Australia where British explorer Charles Sturt searched for an inland sea during Australia’s early days of European settlement. This variety was selected and named by Patrina.
