Description
Aussie Drop originated from a cross made by Patrina Nuske Small named Lazy F1 between an F4 generation selection of Dwarf Tomato Project release Kangaroo Paw Brown and the indeterminate variety Purple Russian. Aussie Drop was selected by Margaret Cronin and named together with Patrina. A host might ask guests “Would anyone like a “drop of wine”? As Margaret and Patrina raised their glasses the name was decided! The regular leaf dwarf plants produce a heavy yield of elongated 4 ounce (on average) purple tomatoes with an excellent, well balanced flavor. It is a late-midseason ripening variety.
