Description
Wilpena originated from a cross between Budai Torpe and Stump of the World made by Patrina Nuske Small in 2005 named Sleepy F1. Wilpena is an early to mid-season rugose potato leaf dwarf with excellent yields of medium 5 – 8oz oblate red fruit, smooth tender and delicious. Plants reach around a metre+ / 3-4 ft by end of season. This variety was selected and named by Patrina. The Wilpena Pound is a huge natural mountainous amphitheatre in the Flinders Ranges of South Australia.
