Description

Mallee Rose originated from a cross between Rosella Purple and Orange Heirloom made by Patrina Nuske Small in 2009 named Rosy F1. Mallee Rose is a mid-season rugose regular leaf dwarf producing abundant medium-large 6 – 10 oz oblate pink fruit which are sweet with a meaty juicy texture. Plants reach about a metre+/ 3-4 ft by end of season and become heavy with fruit requiring staking. As with other pink varieties, avoid letting fruits get over-ripe for the best flavour and texture. This variety was selected and named by Patrina after an endangered native West Australian Eucalypt called Rose Mallee.
