An F2 selection of Grumpy grown by Richard Allen in Australia was sent to Susan Bailey in Alaska who found and named Yukon Quest. Others who helped Sue with the variety's development were Sherry Shiesl, Michael Volk, Ted Corbett, Ted Maiden, and Paul Fish.
